My Great G'ma, on the day she passed on, March 15th. This happens every year on this day! I am not kidding. When I lived in Hollywood, a Ladybug flew on my shoulder & wouldn't leave me on the day my Great G'ma died. I wrote her a poem called "Ladybug Maria" that my G'ma, her daughter put in her casket by her hand. When my G'ma passed on 2 years ago, the same thing happened. I was crying on my bathroom floor and out of nowhere a Ladybug crossed my floor right in front of me!!! I have no idea how that Ladybug got there. or maybe I do? When G'ma passed I wrote her a poem & had the guy at the church open her casket & put the poem by her hand as well.

Today, this Ladybug was right there in my car on the seat when I went to grab my wallet. I just smiled, teared up and I was lucky, blessed, whatever you want to call it that I just so happen to have my camera with me in the seat and I grabbed it! Got these shots! And a video, Then it flew off when I told it to.

Believe what you wanna believe, but I really do feel this is a little visit from my Dear G'ma's. that's our Ladybug connection. It's hard to believe that this is just coincidence! And trust me, I am a very VERY skeptical person!!

I'm a Seal Watcher at the Carpinteria Harbor Seal Rookery. I teach Ocean Etiquette, promoting responsible encounters with marine wildlife & their habitats in the national marine sanctuaries. I watch for any disturbances to the wildlife, other viewers, or impacts on sensitive habitats. MY SEALS!

The City of Carpinteria closes the beach from December 1 through May 31 of each year during the pupping season. We monitor the rookery during the birthing, mating & molting season. The Federal Marine Mammal Act also imposes a fine for disturbing the seals.

I monitor rookery activities to divert any human or dog encroachments to prevent, or minimize, the intensity of any disturbance. Data is collected that includes multiple daily counts of both adult and pups, any disturbances to the rookery, injured animals and the number of visitors observing the seals. ETC ETC

A grand piano recently showed up on a sandbar in Miami's Biscayne Bay, about 200 metres from condominiums on the shore. The piano, which weighs nearly 300 kilograms, was placed at the highest spot along the sandbar so it does not go underwater during high tide. While officials do not know how it got there, they do know it will not be going anywhere unless it becomes a hazard to wildlife or boaters. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Jorge Pino said the agency was not responsible for moving such items, The Miami Herald newspaper reported. And, he added, unless it becomes a navigational hazard, the US Coast Guard would not get involved. For now, the piano has become a fancy roost for seagulls.

One of my best friend's had a baby in Jan! I spent Thanksgiving at her house and had a blast at their baby shower! I never knew a baby shower could be so fun! I took a trillion photos! I guessed the baby's birth date! Yeah, I'm that good! I've known Chris since the old Tori days, Venus/Strange little Girl... and I love her to bits!

The finished product! ;) After a very long labor, Lilith Apple Cohen was finally born on the 7th (like I said she would be!) Friday morning at 6:15, weighing in at 7 lbs and 9 oz and perfectly healthy.

The cute baby Ladybug bathing suit I bought Lilith, amongst other things. I can't wait to see her in this!

I spoke with Michelle Rodriguez at the Sea Shepherd's Hollywood Hills Gala, A night for the Oceans. We talked off & on all night as we posed on the red carpet & she DJed. She told me that she wouldn't be able to go on this next Antarctic campaign. But I wasn't gonna be the one to spred the news, it wasn't my place. I was bummed out. I found out a week 1/2 ago that she was indeed over there & GOING! This makes me very very happy. We need to do all we can to spread the word about the whaling and dolphin killings! Go Michelle! Sweet Swiich needs a safe loving home - I happened upon this dog a few days ago, he was dragged by his owner's truck!

A very sad sad story. On Friday I happened upon this cute doggy that was dragged by his owner. His leach choking him, he tried to run to keep up with the truck, but he could not! We're not sure if it was on purpose. She said she was on her way to the pound because she couldn't afford him. He was being strangled by his leach, notice his eyes bleeding in the first photo. My friend named him "Swiich". If you want more info about this sweetheart please let me know. PLEASE SHARE! WE DO NOT WANT TO TAKE HIM TO THE POUND!!

I was delighted & over the moon to be exclusively invited to the Los Angeles Night for the Oceans. A benifit to defend, conserve and protect the Seas by The Sea Shepherd Conservation. The Sea Shepherd personnel are wonderful, like-minded people, doing the selfless work in which I admire. I was finally going to meet my Hero Captain Paul Waston and get to talk Whale-Talk with him! Meet the other crew members whom I invited into my home every friday night while watching Animal Planet's 'Whale Wars'. I just love that family! I was even more thrilled when I found out that my girl from LOST, Michelle Rodriguez was going to be there DJing! Are you freakin' kidding me! This is f*cking fantastic!

Also in attendence; The Crystal Method, Isabel Lucas, Daryl Hannah (I always run into her at the beach!), Beau Bridges, Kristin Bauer, Bob Talbot, Lincoln O'Barry (A lead activist of The Cove & son of the great Ric O'Barry), Charles Hambleton (Associate producer of The Cove), Steve Roest, Taylor Armstrong (RHOBH), James Costa of course and many others. I literally jumped up & down when I heard that the Sea Shepherds would be announcing the details of a new fast interceptor vessel that will be joining their fleet on 'Operation No Compromise' in the Southern Ocean this year! Vegan hors d'oeuvres and a full open bar! I'm in for a good evening out!

James Costa has been very generous, he has opened his spectacular city-view home in the Hollywood Hills for the Sea Shepherd's 'Night for The Oceans' 2 years in a row. It was a barefoot Party, no shoes aloud! I was happy to be in the company of like-minded people and me being so obsessed with all aspects of architecture and home design, I really had fun checking out every detail of this wonderful home with a BREATHtaking view! I had some really nice conversations with Bob Talbot, some of the Sea Shepherd crew, had a great time with Michelle Rodriguez, made some wonderful friends with fellow Sea Shepherd Supporters, and I was most excited to have witness the unveiling of the new Interceptor Vessel! I wish I had the 1 Million dollars to have my name on that beauty! (I actually had a dream that night after the party that I did just that! *sighs*)

I was pleased to see how many Eco Activists and Sea Shepherd supporters came out for the cause. I had a wonderful time and it doesn't stop here, I will take what I learned that night and will spread the word even more so now. There are many actions that we can take immediately to make a difference: Boycott Canadian seafood, WRITE POLITICIANS: send a letter, e-mail, or fax your local politicians, WRITE COMPANIES THAT SELL SEAL FUR PRODUCTS!, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL MEDIA (TV, NEWSPAPERS AND RADIO), GET YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY INVOLVED!, SUPPORT SEA SHEPHERD WITH A DONATION or any other animal organization. Get involved in WorldWide Anti-Whaling Day! Be creative and be the innovative people that I know you are! I've been touched by the many people I met Saturday! And yes, We are the "sensitive" ones that lay awake at night worrying about overfishing, well at least I do! As I always say, as Paul always says, "The oceans are dying and if the oceans die, then civilization collapses and we all die. It's as simple as that."

Australian authorities fear that the world's only known white humpback whale could be slaughtered as Japan's whaling fleet prepares to embark on its annual hunt in the Southern Ocean.
The one-of-a-kind male humpback, named Migaloo (an Aboriginal word for "white fella"), has become a celebrity in Australia since being spotted for the first time in 1991. Each year, he - along with other closely-knit humpback pods - migrates from the icy seas of Antarctica to the warm shallows of the South Pacific and the Great Barrier Reef. A few months later, the females - leading their newly-born calves - return to Antarctica.
The arrival of 45 foot-long Migaloo - believed to be the only completely white humpback in the world - is keenly anticipated by whale watchers along Australia's east coast. He has been hailed as modern day Moby Dick, even though the creature in Herman Melville's 1851 classic was a sperm whale.

Marine biologists and conservationists, however, fear that Migaloo (who is accustomed to/comfortable near whale-watching and fishing boats) will be an easy target for Japanese hunters. How he's managed to escape their harpoons up until this point is anyone's guess.

I made plans to go to the Australia Zoo to meet Steve & Terri Irwin just a few months before his untimely death. When he died I was beyond devastated. I recieved a big care package from the Australia Zoo a month after his death! *sighs*

Today was perfect from beginning to end. Music, Rain & the Sea set my euphoric mood! Mother Nature, Zues & Neptune must have been at the bar, all drunk today & couldn't make up their minds. Just the way I like it! You get a little bit of everything. I'm all for storms & weather systems gone mad! I was Standing on my balcony, looking out to the Sea, the ships & the Island, listening to Emily Wells' Symphony 1 In the Barrel of a Gun and feeling the sweet ocean breeze.

I came inside with my perfect cup of coffee & started doing some work, while listening to my playlist (Nick Cave, Regina Spektor, Marina & the Diamonds, Fiona Apple, Echo & The Bunnymen, Bat for Lashes, Pj Harvey, Alanis Morissette, Lady Gaga, Emily Wells, Tori Amos, The Cure, Bjork, Sade, Counting Crows, Frank Sinatra, Afghan Wigs, The Knife -obviously I had it on shuffle) and watching this over & over cause I can never get enough of.

Then it started ♥ Raining ♥ out of nowhere and I got all excited! I looked out my window at the beach and the sun was out, but it was pouring. I planned a mini-photo shoot for today, but this was all spontaneous, the best way! My god it was perfect and I felt like a little kid again! The sky was looking crazy, pouring rain one minute & bright sunshine the next. As I was heading out to the beach my neighbour stopped me & gave me her red umbrella, little did I know it was going to play such a big roll...

This bro & sis team I met passing by were so cute. They came up to me right after my hand that was holding the metal umbrella handle got zapped by lightning & asked me if they were ok to run with the lightning. I told them that the dark clouds were moving away.

On their way back- they were so excited about the feathers, shells & bird bones they found. The girl went on to tell me in detail about all the dead animals they found. Adorable smart kids!

Look what I found - Tori Amos July 17, 2009 Greek Theatre

I'm finding old photos and video that I meant to blog, but had been forgotten in between moving. There will be no review on my behalf because I simply don't remember it. Sorry. I do remember on our way there almost getting into a car accident on the 101 freeway with Jermaine and Tito Jackson, yes you heard that right. Omg! I mean really. Out of all people in LA, and this was soon after their brother's death. I was right beside Jermaine and he looked at me. I felt compelled to blow him a kiss and jesture my hand over my heart and mouthed the words "I'm Sorry". He blew me a kiss back and put his hand over his heart as well!! What a sweet guy Jermaine is. All the while Bernadette and I are taking photos! Haha. I'm pretty damn' good at taking photos while driving. Don't tell Oprah that! Shhhhh.

I also remember being late to the show!? First time ever late to a concert! Missing the only 3 songs I really wanted to hear. Give, Siren and Graveyard!! Ugh! Seems that Tori started early? Don't know what happened there? I also remember my friend Melinda from Seattle whom I gave my FRONT ROW ticket to at a 2007 Seattle show, had a pit ticket for me for free, repaying me the favor. Found her add on Craigslist! And she wrote back "Is this Raven". So freakin' funny. Small world! Me being late didn't get the tix, but I got pretty close up anyhow.

I was ill prepared for the show, not bringing enough GB for my camera. I decided to go at last minute. My friend Bernadette went with me, her first Tori show! I ran into an old Tori friend, Chris on her way to the bathroom during 'Jackie's Strength'.
It was *Magical*, perfect timing! This was the first time being out of my house after my Grandmother's death on Jan 5. So it was still really fresh. We squeezed each other tight. I couldn't refrain from crying. (We made plans to see each other and she paid me a visit a few months later. Chris, being a chef cooked some yummy food for me and we laid on the floor while listening to The Doors. She gave me one of her bracelets, which I still wear to this day!) Out of all those people in a Theatre that holds nearly 7,000, I can not believe I ran into her! So glad I did.

I also remember on the way out I stopped to say "Hello" to the tree I adopted. I like to call it "My Tori Tree" because I adopted it back in 1998 on the night of Tori's Greek show on her Choir Girl Hotel tour. I wrote on it- "Raven comes here often" (I use to live 2 blocks from The Greek Theatre) and "We Held Gold Dust in our hands". I would write something on it every time Tori had a show at The Greek. It's a big huge, I'm talkin' Huuuggge tree that many of friends had taken pictures with.

One being my/our late friend Jim Fernandez. Those friends that knew him and that are on my Facebook know what I'm talking about. May he rest in peace.

And finally, I remember Bernadette and I walking super fast downhill, tree roots everywhere, to my car in the dark and I tragically tripped, in a one-two BAM! Needing 38 stitches! It was gnarly!

I was invited to go see Marina & the Diamonds a day before the show by my friend MK who runs the website/blog Popbytes.com . Even tho I was excited I wasn't sure if I was going to go being tired from a hike the day before. I went back and fourth and decided to go and I'm SO glad I did! It was one of the best decision I ever made! Omg!

I use to listened to Marina and the Diamonds casually, NOW after seeing her live she's my new Obsession! And I told her that! Wow. And I couldn't have asked for a more smoother, stressless night from beginning to end! It was almost to good to be true. I left the house @ 8:00pm -45 mins. later then I planned and it still worked out perfectly! From my house I took the 40 min. drive, no traffic at all. Made it there pretty fast, got on my phone to call MK to tell him I was pulling up to the curb and he was already right there waiting, talking to me on the phone! Ha! The last time I saw him was at the El Rey when I went to see Regina Spektor. I guess it's our meeting place.

I have a secret spot by Rite Aid where I always find parking. Low and behold I turn the corner and there's my parking spot waiting for me! Always the same spot! I can't believe it, it's always so packed in that area, especially on Friday nights. MK walked up to meet me, we went up to the box office without waiting in line. Got the tix, photo pass and VIP wrist bands, went in, chatted, drinks, found our spots, the show started soon after and I was blown away!

Marina stepped on stage at the El Rey Theatre Friday night to play her last, sold-out show on tour. Marina and her band have such great chemisrty and energy. The crowd was fun and not rude like other artists shows I've gone to. People of all ages were dancing around to her songs. Old, balding men, teenage girlfriends, young adults, and couples of all ages stood in the crowd rocking out.

Marina sang tracks from her latest album, "The Family Jewels,". In between songs she continually thanked the audience for being so amazing and supporting her throughout her tour. She mentioned how she was in such a great mood and how she feels more at home here then in the UK. She said she was coming back to stay!

I loved the way Marina pranced around the stage, involved her "Diamonds" (that being us) the entire night. I loved the quick outfit changes-she's fast! She's so fun! I hate 'comparing' artists, but all thru the night I couldn't put my finger on who she reminded me of! A bit of Regina Spektor in there and a hint of Kate Nash's quirky-ness on her up beat melodies.

It wasn't until she began singing a few verses of her most popular track, "I Am Not A Robot" in a cappella that I realized how extraordinary Marina really was.

Not only does Marina have a broad vocal range, she can easily transition her show from seeming like a Lada-Gaga-esqe spectacle to a more soulful, intimate performance, very reminiscent of Regina Spektor, playing a more mellow, stripped down song on the piano titled, "Numb."

I, as I always do found my fav song when she started the first line of 'Guilty'. "I was dreaming something dark", her hair blowing in the fan. I was looking thru my camera lens and I remember getting chills. Very moving song. I was lucky enough to capture this moment on video. You can find all videos from this show on my Youtube page. (I have 1 more surprise to add)

A surprising twist for her last show, she sang a cover of 3OH!3's/Katy Perry's "Starstruck," in a completely toned down manner, singing the verse "Now, L-o-v-e's just another word I never learned to pronounce" slowly and softly, completely altering the song's effect from what was originally an almost repulsive song to an extraordinarily beautiful one. There aren't many artists who can do such a remarkable feat. It was a very moving moment as well.

Marina Diamandis, said to her fans at the end of her show, "I am Marina and you will always be diamonds." Perhaps another reason to love her so. xx

I still lmao at the glares thrown at each other. While MK was in the bathroom some guy started massaging me while I was filming Perez watching me. lmao! Oh good times!*

MK came out & we stood around for a few mins. until the guy on the loud speaker told all the VIPer's to go upstairs. *What perfect timing* I had as usual! I run into the artist and find myself alone with them. {same thing happened w/Fiona Apple & Regina Spektor!}

MK and I went up the stairs, sat at a little table for a bit, talked about precious things & he said, "let's go in now". He went in before me and I followed, running right into Marina in her lovely Black Vampire Vintage dress.! It was just us 2 and her manager/security guy. I told her "You know Marina I'm VERY picky who I listen to, I have my 4 fav. artists Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, she said "I like them". And Fiona Apple, she said "Ohhh I LOVE Fiona Apple, I love Fiona" and I said "Regina Spektor and Tori Amos". "And I been forever wondering if there was ever gonna be a 5th fav. and I found my 5th tonight!" And she said "Awwwee, you're so sweet" and hugged me. I told her the show was so good and that she's my new obsession. She giggled and said "Thank you" and rubbed my arm after giving me another hug. As we were talking I happen to glance over to Perez and he was just starring at us, w/a smug look. wtf? haha.

Marina and I walked into the room, which I have to say was the best looking VIP room I ever seen. Dark Red walls, velvet and Candlelight Chandelier ! I walked around the corner & there was Mk sitting at a table. I told him he missed the little chat I had w/Marina. We talked and waited a few mins. before getting some shots w/Marina. Told her it was a great show and we said our Goodbyes and off we went. What a great night! I was very happy how everything turned out!

Time to play catch up. Just found this old draft in my blogger! This should have been blogged a long time ago, I know. but better late then Never!

I grew up w/Michael, Madonna, you know that era. All the cool videos on Mtv when Mtv first went on the air. I was there with my dad over the phone waiting all day until Mtv literally came on the air. MJ was part of my Generation. Part of my childhood memories. When Thriller came out I ran to the record store & bought that shit & played it till I was blue in the face and knew every word by heart. I had the album cover & posters on my bedroom wall. I had a big crush on him!! I saw The video 'Thriller' and it was all over with. My Dad would imitate the zombies and make laugh.

The other videos came, but as they did I also noticed his love for animals and old movie stars, and the longing to help others in need. Sharing his wealth when he really didn't have to. He holds the World's Record for being the only person in history having & opening the most Charities & giving the most money. There were so many things people didn't know about him. I also noticed when all these surgeries started taking place. He started getting carried away, as we ALL know. But it wasn't funny like we all laughed and joked about, he was suffering from a negative body image and insecurity beyond belief. Maybe caused by his father constantly telling him he was the "ugly one" and "you didn't get that potato nose from me". What a dick his "father" was.

I got mad, wondering where his "friends" & family were? I mean somebody needed to step in & tell him "Hey Mike you're getting too many surgeries, taking too many pills and I'm worried about you and by the way can I make you a sandwich?" Really. Poor guy.

Let me tell you how sweet he was. I use to work on Melrose Ave. with my friend Angie. We had an order come in from him. He spent thousands of $ on 2 HUUUUGGE gifts baskets for his baby sister JANET & the other one was for LIZ TAYLOR!! He ordered a huge white vintage birdcage w/live white Doves surrounded by flowers for Liz, it took 4 people to carry it to the delivering van. He got his sister JANET the biggest Teddy Bear I have ever seen w/chocolates and flowers. Always so thoughtful and Sweet.

On the evening of his death I got home from school where I found out about his death. All the radio stations were playing his songs, rap stations, rock stations, I had it on good old K-Earth 101. Non-stop music and non stop callers telling their MJ stories. I was up until 4am. I even called in to Coast to Coast AM and got thru and spoke live on the air with Ian! They saved me for the last call of the night, it was a perfect ending, as Ian put it "A girl named Raven talking about Doves".

He was sorely misunderstood, no doubt! He was shy & fragile. I'll always remember MJ for not only his music and dancing, but for his sensitivity and humanitarian ways, his love for animals and for be a wonderful fun daddy and caring so much about his fans.

I use to live near the Jackson Family home in the valley, so I knew where it was. I took a drive over there, to his star and all the way over to Neverland Ranch. I literally took hundreds of photos!

This Album 'Tidal' changed my life. I remember living in the San Fernando Valley When it came out. I remember as if it were yesterday. I was at work, 6am and all the way thru the day I listened to 'Tidal' as I watched outside, the Leaves falling to the ground to her sullen, heavy and moody voice. I was alone, nobody was around and I was singing along to the top of my lungs, just standing there watching the leaves and thought finally someone who thinks and feels as I do. I found a treasure chest that day, little 'ole Fiona, my Virgo Sister. Every one of her albums after are Gems. But this is my fav. Thank you Fiona Apple McAfee Maggart!

Top Hat is flashpoint of upcoming Michael Moore documentary

Controversial activist and filmmaker Michael Moore has taken on a new fight, having found juicy inspiration in Ventura’s own former cheap eats shack, Top Hat Burger Palace. When Moore attended the Ventura Film Festival in 2009 (prior to its rebirth as the Ventura Film Society), he became a regular at Top Hat. It was then that he was introduced to the restaurant’s ongoing struggle to remain open. On one particular day in July, Moore realized that such problems weren’t limited to Ventura, but had become a growing problem across the country.

“I was eating a hamburger — double patty with cheese, a side of fries, two sodas. It’s Americana, you know? It’s fading,” Moore said as he disassembled a hamburger in his office, pointing to the tomato and lettuce as symbols of freedom and justice. “I want to put the fresh freedom on top of the crispy justice and then eat them together. One serving the other. All in my belly. That’s America.”

Moore followed his nose to other businesses in Ventura, uncovering a pattern of openings and closings that he believes emphasizes his warning of America’s declining taste for the historical. Standing before the fence that now bars entrance into the Wagon Wheel, a historic former hotel off of the 101 freeway in Oxnard, Moore and Stephen Schafer of the San Buenaventura Conservancy held a press conference to announce the film.

“Our battle is far from over to save these old, mostly useless artifacts of a culture that has long come and gone and, some would say, overstayed its welcome,” Schafer said as Moore fidgeted with coupons behind him. “With Michael’s help, we will finally have the strength in voice we need.” Schafer and Moore then shook hands and posed together.

However, Schafer became critical of Moore after all references to the Wagon Wheel were removed when rumors of replacing it with a Burger King began to circulate.
“The focus of this documentary is on the struggle,” Moore said, spreading mayo on a toasted sesame seed bun. “If they reopened it with a Burger King inside maybe one of the rooms had a grill and another a deep fryer — I think it might help. Make it drive-thru accessible, perhaps. I’m just brainstorming here.”

Last week, Moore quietly attended a screening of a six-minute short produced by a student at Brooks Institute before leaving to visit the old Top Hat location, where he was confronted by an assembly of protesters who had gathered in the adjacent parking lot. The crowd, chanting, “Burgers and lies!” gathered around Moore, who then led them on a march to the stairs of City Hall where he gave a fiery and winded impromptu speech.

“There’s a town in Michigan completely devoid of hamburgers,” Moore said as he wiped his mouth with his wrist, sweat on his brow. “The place is sad, like a ghost town. Strangers ride bikes all day and night. People are power-walking around, skinny as you can’t imagine and breathing easily. These people are hungry.”

“I’m feeling very burger-deprived,” said Ventura resident Ryan Elliott, a robust man wearing a bowler hat and holding a sign that read “Hamburgled.” “We’re all so grateful for Moore. Someone needed to stand up and flame-grill the politicians.”
Moore’s film I’ll Gladly Pay You Tuesday for a Hamburger Never will open in select theaters this summer.

This is one of my favourite photos of Marilyn, it for some reason, maybe for it's pure simplicity & innocent energy, brings out a lot of emotions in me. The first being Anger. How she was treated like some dumb blond and I believe rather forced or brought on the overdose of pills that killed this marvelous creature, perhaps as a cover up or a broken heart. Either way you look at it. THEY killed her.

MTV BANS "TELEPHONE" MUSIC VIDEO-CNN reported today that MTV has decided to ban the airing of the music video for Lady Gaga and Beyoncé's "Telephone" on its network. The most shocking thing about this is that MTV still believes its decision matters.

Courtesy Mediaite, here's video of CNN's Fredricka Whitfield and Jackie Jeras discussing MTV's decision to ban the video.(It should be noted that, unlike what is mentioned in the above clip, the "Telephone" music video has garnered more than 13 million YouTube views in less than three days.) The ironic thing about this is that MTV, through years of cultivation of reality programming that infested its schedule so deeply, barely even airs music videos anymore— a quick look at the network's programming schedule for today reveals no time slots devoted to music videos, yet seven hours set aside for its docudrama program, True Life —yet still feels the need to issue a ban on one it deems too provocative.

Even more ironic is the fact that the network is alienating probably the only artist out there who still actually cares about making a good music video in an age when dancing a little ditty in front of a green screen, or splicing together footage of a live performance and dubbing the studio version of the track over it, seems to be the norm. This is classic MTV: desperate (and obvious) attempts to hold onto the relevance it once had—and lost on its own accord—by doing anything and everything it can to drum up publicity through manufactured controversy. (Remember this?).

The fact that the network still, somehow, believes that its music video-related "decisions" matter is just another piece of the WTF puzzle. As mentioned above, the "Telephone" music video has amassed more than 13 million YouTube views in under three days. When was the last time MTV had 13 million people watch anything?

The 2010 Olympics will be a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I feel that I skated two of the best performances of my career, making my coaches, my family and above all myself very proud. Altho, I am finally living in my own beautiful home by the Sea (what I always wanted). I have new things this year that I have always wanted and have made new great forever kind of friends in my new city here, and experienced things I never had before, learned some great things and was taught a few a lessons! These are all good things...

But, It's timing is way off, or maybe it was meant to be this way? I never got to share this with My Dearest Grandma, Mother, Best Friend. It wasn't supossed to be like this.

It's all been bittersweet, when I find myself happy, I say "wait a minute", you can't be happy. You just lost the only thing that ever meant anything to you. So, It's happy filled with Sorrow.

In a way, to me it doesn't even seem like New Year's to me. Am I the only one that feels this way? It's weird, it went by way too fast!

what I love about real musicians is that they can improvise. When I was younger, it would throw me off if an artist changed the words in the live version. I appreciate that now, because it's more expressive and sincere to the artists expression. That's music, man.

I went to the Morrissey concert the night before and was up really late, well up in the weirdest early morning hours and it was all a blur. I had to "recover" from what I went thru the prior night. I knew Bernadette and I had made plans to go to the to the Harbour for the boat light parade the following night on Saturday. I was so tired from only getting a few hrs of sleep, so much so that I was delirious! But Bernie called me and off we went. It was funny! I was hung over (not from drinking, just hung over) & I was all giggles for no reason!

I grabbed all my The Smiths Cd's (because my ONLY way OUT is to go SO FAR IN) and a sweater, Peacoat, scarf and a bottled water. Thank all the gods, for it was FREEZING! By the Sea of course! I met Bernadette at a local record store called http://www.salzers.com/ . We went in for some Adam Lambert, Susan Boyle, anything Morrissey I may have forgotten, and looking at used cheap crap before we realised we better get going before we miss all the action!

We both didn't eat anything as of 6pm, so off to din din, after high-fiving each other like a couple of geeks when we both agreed on EL POLLO LOCO! (my fav. place). Nachos here I come!

We both were starving and ate like we were eating our "last supper" as on lookers we're horrified. OH WELL. I asked the owners if they had any "I love El Pollo Loco" bumper stickers, but no good! My friend was asking for a hat, lol, I even wouldn't wear that shit! They prolly thought we were drunk! Anyways, out of there...

I was following dette at some point, oh yeah, that was after the record store, then to a gas station that was too bright and blaring music to me. Ekk! Put gas in the tank and off we went down a dark road to the harbour, she following me this time. We got there and it was PACKED!!

We searched for parking as I almost crashed a few times because I was mesmerized by all the boats with X-mas lights & I didn't know there was going to be a fair there either! Dette didn't tell me! I was excited like a little kid. I like these sort of things. I'm a kid at heart!

She finally found a parking spot & then I. She found me some how & popped out of nowhere! We walked up & I was excited about the slip and slide, but then I saw the cotton candy and had bernadette buy me a mulit-coloured one (it was gross, stick w/the blue or pink).

After that, I saw the yellow rubber duckies and it was all over with. I ran over there and poor bernie had to deal w/me standing around this one booth for like 45 minutes! You don't know how much I like to people watch and I just love reptiles!

wipe my nose, get my new boots on... After all was said and done, I walked away w/my baby turtle and bernadette and I just walked around the water's edge. I had so much fun that night and it was all but maybe 3 hours? and all totally spontaneous! Thanks Bernadette for inviting me!

Went to my Dear friend's house today. Hellen was 1 of the 1rst people I met here in Ventura. She has a sweet soul.

We had fun giggling like little girls...I'm so glad I met Hellen. When I first met her she was standing on the sidewalk in downtown Ventura. She made quite an impression on me. She looked like an old-time movie star. She was also wearing my grandma and I's favourite colours, Purple (G'ma) and Green (me). The green trench coat was sea foam green and she had long classy hair w/ old vintage hair pins. Believe it or not, we have a lot in commom. We have old souls and we connect, I have always been drawn to the vintage people. :P
I asked Hellen to pose w/ the photograph of her Mother & Father pressed against her heart! Beautiful! Hellen took only 1 step today!!! haha LOL {inside joke with us} When I was worried I forgot about the brown sugar I needed & the stores were closed, she slipped this in my purse when I checked on the Dog. Dont'cha love Grandma types? Always got your back! ;p Her Granddaugter's piglet...when she was leaving she left it there for Hellen so she wouldn't be lonely! Awwwe *LOVE* Opening the gifts I got her... She's so child-like right here. I love it! *Hellen's Vintage Radio* Our Feet Our Hands we're talking about how January was the worst month/year for us...We have a lot in common sure was- The year from HELL. Her daughter who died bday's was on the 13th, my G'ma died on the 5th {so did I}
